Despite being a little rough around the edges, all in all I was really impressed with the entire Lions' package yesterday. That said, I still have my concerns about the next 15 games... Because I had season tickets in 2008. *Wah wah*

haha yeah. They still have discipline problems. Imagine what the score would have been without all the little mistakes here and there.

Hopefully Bush can keep it up and hopefully our defense holds up.

Are you kidding me? There was nothing good about that sham. They took points off the board a number of times. Some thanks to stupid rules, some thanks to stupid penalties, and some thanks to stupid refs.

All in all, despite that they put up great numbers and they pulled off the win. The first half they had the vikings beat in just about any way you looked at it, except in scoring, lol. But they fixed that. Reggie Bush put up some very impressive numbers and Calvin proved yet again why he's the best.

I’m a Lions fan. I’m hopeful until the season starts. Here is why the Lions are the worst 1-0 team in the NFL.

-2 nd and 1 on their first drive of the year the Lions run and fail to get a first down. On 3 rd down they decide to throw the ball. On 4 th down they fumble the snap on a field goal.

-Adrian Peterson’s first touch goes for 80 yards.

-The process of the catch rule. Calvin Johnson reaches out to score and drops the ball when he hits the ground. Leads to a field goal.

-Lions get a pick 6 but Suh decides to cut block someone 10 yards away from the play. Lions go 3 and out. If you’re keepings score at home that’s 13 points taken off the board.

-Lions drop a pick 6 because Bill Bentley is too busy looking at the endzone.

-Vikings are trying to drive late in the first half. Delmas gets a 15 yard taunting penalty to help make sure they get even closer.

-End of first half 1 st and 10 on the 13 with 55 seconds left the Lions do NOT call timeout. They run 2 plays before halftime. If Bell doesn’t score they’re forced to call a timeout and kick. 2 plays in 55 seconds with 1 timeout to use. They tried their hardest not to score.

-Rookie gets a good jump (freeze frame replay shows he was onside) causes a strip sack and the Lions are too anxious to pick it up and run instead of jumping on the ball, but officials insist he was offsides. Vikings score a TD on the drive after a 45 yard pass play on the next play.

Thankfully the Vikings got sick with the stupid disease and got a roughing the passer penalty to extend a drive on third down. That helped the Lions get to 1-0.

Agreed. So long as that young O-line continues at the level they showed yesterday, it will create opportunities for Stafford to spread the ball around, Johnson will have more time on his routes, and Bush will have the blocks he needs to run. This could create the dynamic for manufacturing high scores. Which would also take some pressure off the D.

That process of the catch is such horseshit, he extended the ball out into the endzone, crossing the plan, a move that can only be done if you have real control of the football. Later that same crossing the plane rule was just fine for, was it Bell? Probably because he was down by contact... Anyways I feel they are getting way to technical. Calvin never truly lost the ball, an article I read yesterday describes it as "the ball rotated" Seriously? It's a ball, they are made rotate!

I will agree if the Lions don't clean up their act and face a team with a better defense than the Vikings, they could be in real trouble. Specifically a team that Bush isn't able to poke hole's through, at times he really made the Vikings look like shit!

Peterson? Yes, he made an 80 yard TD, but take that away and his offensive production was what? 12 yards? They held him real well most of the game. I remember at one point he had negative yardage if you take that TD out of the equation.

That missed field goal, that was inexcusable! Setting a punt should not be that hard, haha.

I forgot the holding penalty when the Lions went for it on 4th down and the careless fumble.

Twice the Lions faced third and short early in the game and they fail to convert on passing plays. They ran the ball effectively all day and couldn't try to run on 3rd and short? That was what pissed me off most about the whole game.

Having that run option, the Vikings didn't know what hit them! Lenehan took full advantage of that with lots of fake-outs. The Vikings never seemed to know what the Lions would do next. At first they were playing as if it's a passing offense, than they go "oh shit" they are running the ball, guess what? At that point Stafford just passes to Bush or Johnson. I really like the dynamic, the Vikings had at least 2 beasts of players to worry about at all times. Of course Bell impressed as well and who was that went 6 for 6 with receptions?

Haha yeah, 3rd down conversions were bad on the Lions part and even worse on the Vikings, at one point they were 0 and 4 on 3rd down.

Adrien Peterson, with the exception of the one long break away, was incredibly unimpressive.

yeah, you take that away and he only made it like 12 yards.
